The Inverno Vet is a hiking boot developed by Diemme
and their Japanese partner GMT Tokyo. It has a lower profile and looser
construction around the ankle, with hardwear that protrudes further
forward towards the toe box. The looser construction around the ankle
and the soft leather does not give the same ankle support as the Roccia
Vet for medium to long walks, but on the other hand it gives your ankle
totally free movement which is often preferable for light walking or
when you are not actively moving but want your feet to stay warm.
This
particular option has an English Wool shearling, which gives very high
breathability, insulation to protect against heat or cold, and an
unsurpassable comfort level. The leather being used
is the amazing Desert Oasis from Charles F Stead & Co. It is a
supersoft heavyweight suede, where CF Stead has applied technology
normally used to separate fibres in heat resistant leather in order to
ahieve high thermal insulation. The
Vibram Cristy is a historical Vibram design reintroduced in the Vibram
Morflex micro-cellular soling compound. Vibram Morflex is 1/3 the weight
of composition rubber, and provides maximal lightness combined with
high flexibility and bounce. This sole has excellent slip-resistance on
floors, but will be slippery on ice due to its extreme flexibility.
All components, including hardwear and laces, are italian made. Handmade in Onè di Fonte, Italy.
